July 4th 2009: Bend

There is a great firework display here in Bend. They shoot them off from Pilot Butte, so you can see them from all around town. We walked up to some vacant lots with some neighbor friends, to get a better view. It was a fun night! Cameron loves doing fireworks, so of course we did our own, I think we ran out before the 4th..he just couldn't stand waiting! :)

Family Vacation: Summer 2009

We had an awesome vacation this last summer. We drove (not the fun part) to California and stayed in a fabulous rental house, complete with a pool. We decided to hit all of the hot spots: Disneyland, Universal studios, LegoLand, California Adventure, Huntington beach....and for me, In-n-out burger was a great feature. Oh how I miss those burgers!! :) Cameron and Alex still talk about it and want to go again this year....we'll see. Brandt was just along for the ride, literally...he was basically in a stroller the whole time. :)

Merri got married!!

Yes, this is late posting. But remember I am going back in time to catch up. She married a great guy who is wonderful to her and her children. He is currently in school for engineering. I know they are both eagerly awaiting his graduation. They got married on a boat that went up and down the Columbia River, in the Gorge. Alex and I went, and got to stay in a hotel for a night. It was fun to get away and spend time just the two of us. :)

She is me BEST friend, and I am so happy I was included in her day! :)

It's a new year! 2010!

So as you can see, it has been a LONG time since I last blogged. Life has been pretty crazy on this end...and I just have not found the time or inspiration to keep up to date.
That brings me to my new Year's resolution: GET UP TO DATE ON BLOG!!! What, I only have about 7 months to catch up on. :) I have a list made of the happenings of me and my family, and will get started soon. Just thought I would let you know we are alive. :)

Girls Weekend

The title says it all. Merri drove in from Portland and we had so much fun together. Dave took the kids to my Mom's house (thank you Mom, and Dave a million times over). We went to the spa, she got a massage and I got a pedicure. We walked around downtown Bend and looked at some of the eclectic shops. We also had to hit the Old Mill district. We had a wonderful lunch and shopped, mostly for our kids....isn't that funny. We had plans to see a movie, but mostly we spent time talking. I even lost my voice. It was a much needed break for me. I have felt on over-load for a long time, and sure needed some me/adult time. We might even make this a yearly tradition. I wanted to take so many pictures, but my camera is on it's last leg...this one picture was the only one that kind of turned out. :( My new camera is on it's way!

Do you remember this shirt that you gave to Cameron when you were going to BYU? Well now it fits Brandt, I had to take some pictures of him wearing it...just for you. We still have the BYU teddy bear too. :)

TEETH!!!

TEETH!!!

My little Brandt has got himself a brand new set of teeth. He has been working on them for a while. I was playing with him this afternoon and there they were! It is like they just showed up. SOOOO cute. He is growing up way too fast, I even had to upgrade his carseat because he was getting too big. Now he has to sit in the shopping carts like a big boy. :( Of course I have the fitted padding that fits over the germ infested carts, and I wipe it down with sanitizing wipes before that...and I wash his hands after we leave the store. Do you think I am a bit paranoid? Nah, not me...we can just call it "protective". :)
